Ellen On the Issues

As Mayor, and as the public face of the Town of the Blue Mountains, I am responsible for representing, supporting and promoting the interests of the town and its residents.  To this end, I work on a variety of issues and policies, and am involved in a number of committees and agencies.  Below you’ll find an overview of some of the issues I’ve addressed in the past, that are currently under consideration or that I believe should/will be in the near future.  Some are issues of ongoing community interest, as well as issues I am personally committed to addressing as the basis of a great community.

•    Efficient, Effective Government

A vibrant and effective municipality does not exist in isolation.  We must all put forth our best effort, and transcend borders to optimize what we have to offer.

•    Appropriate infrastructure

Economic development and the anticipated growth in our community in future years will entail our ensuring the appropriate infrastructure is put in place to handle that growth in a proactive manner...

I believe that these basics are fundamental to our success as a municipality, and that by providing residents with these basics, we enable our population together to create the energetic, dynamic and sustainable community that we all envision.
